Our foster care department is located in the Main Administrative Building at 44 Sherman Street. You can apply to become a foster family by calling or emailing the Family Development Specialist, Christine Young at 413.739.5626 EXT 266 or cyoung@studyhome.org.

We accept applications on an ongoing basis.

We work in a unique foster care program called Comprehensive Foster Care. This program allows foster families to provide a home to one or two children. We work mostly with children and families in Western Massachusetts and always try and match children with a foster family in their current school district. We are firmly committed to serving children who may identify as LGBTQ and especially need foster families who are educated about serving this population.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

You must be at least 21 years old to apply.

You must have previous experience working with children.

Your home must meet all health and safety standards.

You must successfully complete a background record check.

You must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and access to a reliable automobile.

FOSTER FAMILIES RECEIVE:

A tax free stipend of $ 58.45 per day, per child.

Ongoing training on trauma/neglect and how to support youth.

A case manager assigned to each child.

Access to clinical support.

Monthly foster parent support meetings.
